Northville High School
​Competitive Dance Team 

Purpose
The purpose of the Northville  Dance Teams is to promote and maintain school spirit through performances at various athletic events, activities and competitions.  In addition, the group will strive to develop character, leadership and individual responsibility in preparation for a life of dance in a college setting.

Dance Season
The Northville High School Varsity and JV Dance Team season will commence in August and will run through the end of February.

Participation
The Northville High School Varsity, JV & Middle School Dance Teams are selected by an audition to be held in the spring for the following school year.  All Northville High School girls in their freshman through junior years are eligible to audition.  In addition, the audition is open to all eighth grade girls who plan to enter Northville High School in the fall.  Audition information will be posted on the website and will be provided to the administrators at Hillside and Meads Mill Middle Schools for communication to eligible students.

Competitions and Events
The Northville High School Varsity and JV Dance Teams will participate in the following:

• Summer Intensive (end of August)
• NHS Homecoming PEP Rally and Parade
• Dance workshops / master classes and events as selected by the Coach
• Regional Dance Competitions as selected by the Coach
• NHS Varsity and JV Basketball Game halftime performances (approximately 2-3 per season, both boys and girls)
• NHS Dance Team Clinics
• Northville High School Dance Team Showcase

Our Varsity Dance Team is a nationally ranked team and has been ranked in the top ten since 2017
​and undefeated regionally since 2019. We also were the 2023 national champions for small varsity jazz.  
Our program is nationally recognized, and we have an extremely hardworking, motivated and talented team.
